Dear Parents,

On behalf of the staff at King City Arts Magnet I want to welcome you all back to the 2022-2023 school year, as we are excited to continue with in-person learning. We are looking forward to providing a fantastic educational experience for all of our students and parents.

My name is Dr. Anjantte Winckler, and I am the King City Arts Magnet Principal. I am extremely honored to be a part of the school community and be instrumental as we support students and families during their educational journey.

I am currently entering my second year with King City Arts Magnet, but I have been an educator for 29 years and I have been privileged to work in a variety of positions, which includes being a teacher, site leader, and district administrator. My career in education began right out of college as a Special Education teacher at Camarillo State Developmental Hospital. I then worked as a Special Education teacher for Santa Barbara City Schools, and Santa Barbara County Office of Education. When I first became an administrator I worked as a Principal and then a Coordinator for Santa Barbara County SELPA Summer School Programs. My first full-time leadership position was at Los Olivos Elementary School. From there, I was an elementary and junior high Principal in the Bay Area, and then a site and district administrator in the Santa Maria Bonita School District.

I would also like to introduce Sarah Ledo who is your King City Arts Magnet Vice Principal. Ms. Ledo began her career as an Instructional Assistant for two years in the Special Education Department at Culver City Unified School District. Sarah taught first grade for a total of four years, one of which was with LAUSD, one year teaching third grade and two years in sixth grade at Salinas City Elementary School District. Ms. Ledo grew up in Salinas and graduated from Salinas High School. Sarah completed her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara and Masters in Education with a concentration in leadership from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Sarah looks forward to building positive relationships with all stakeholders in the community and helping students reach their educational goals.

The staff here at KCAM know that last year was quite challenging. I want to personally thank our students' parents and family members for their perseverance and commitment as you all were an instrumental part of your child's education. For the 2022-2023 school year, we will work hard to ensure that all students feel welcome, excited for learning, and are immersed in a culture of learning here at KCAM.

We are looking forward to this year.
